Sea Eagles flyer Tolu Koula has entered the concussion protocols after failing his HIA following Kalyn Ponga's high shot so Josh Feledy will start in the centres for the second week running.

Sharks: Star halfback Nicho Hynes will miss Friday’s match due to a calf injury, with debutant Niwhai Puru named in the No.7 jumper to partner Braydon Trindall in the halves. Craig Fitzgibbon has named all three of his Origin players - Blayke Brailey, Addin Fonua-Blake and Briton Nikora - and is hopeful they will back up. "All things being equal we hope they will play but we won't be taking any risks either," Fitzgibbon said. Cameron McInnes will start at lock in his 100th game for the club, while Ronaldo Mulitalo and Jesse Ramien retain their place in the backline after making successful returns from injury before last week’s bye.

Sea Eagles: Centre Tolu Koula will miss the game after failing a HIA in Wednesday's Origin opener while Haumole Olakau'atu is also being rested. "We are going to take the long-game approach with those two boys. It's pretty risky to throw them back out there 48 hours after a big game like that so it will be good for them to freshen up," coach Kieran Foran said on Thursday. Back-rower Ben Trbojevic has been cleared to play after a head injury assessment was reclassified by the NRL from a category 1 to a category 2, following no diagnosis of concussion being made.

Knights: Skipper Kalyn Ponga has been named to back up from Origin with coach Justin Holbrook indicating that a decision would be made on Friday as to whether he plays. "The games Kalyn has played for us [since he came back] it has taken him a lot of days to recover so we won't decide our side until captain's run on Friday," Holbrook said. Should Ponga be rested, Fletcher Hunt would most likely move to fullback as he did for four games earlier in the season. Prop Jacob Saifiti wasn't used by the Blues so he will be good to go for Newcastle.

Eels: Fullback Isaiah Iongi returns from an ankle injury suffered in Round 4 so Joash Papalii moves to five-eighth alongside Ronald Volkman, who takes over from Mitch Moses (hamstring). Skipper Junior Paulo is set to miss eight weeks of footy after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure for his right knee due to chronic injury. Jack Williams lines up at prop and will also captain the side in the absence of Moses and Paulo.

Storm: Origin stars Cameron Munster, Harry Grant and Trent Loiero have all been named in the starting side for Saturday’s crucial clash. Emerging playmaker Keagan Russell-Smith has been listed in the reserves and could come into the halves if Munster drops out. The only non-Origin related change to the Round 12 side sees Shawn Blore drop out after he was placed in the HIA protocol following last Friday's loss to the Bulldogs. Alec Macdonald replaces Blore in the starting side.

Roosters: Blues hero James Tedesco and fellow Origin reps Victor Radley, Reece Robson, Rob Toia, Lindsay Collins and Sam Walker have all been named, with a final decision on their fitness to be made on Friday. Billy Smith makes his long-awaited return from a knee injury, coming in on the wing for Daniel Tupou, who injured his calf in Magic Round.

Broncos: A huge boost for the premiers with prop Payne Haas (knee) set to play his first game since Round 7 while back-rower Brendan Piakura (knee) has also been named. "I'm 100 per cent, I trained fully the other day and I'm excited to play with the boys," Haas said on Thursday. Kotoni Staggs, Ezra Mam, Gehamat Shibasaki and Pat Carrigan have all been named to back up from Origin One and will be monitored. Jack Gosiewski (concussion) and Grant Anderson (knee) have been named to return from concussion via the bench.

Dragons: Centre Moses Suli returns from a back injury and hooker Jacob Liddle (hamstring) is also good to go but Hayden Buchanan (shoulder), Jaydn Su'A (calf) and Christian Tuipulotu (hamstring) are out. Hooker Damien Cook has been named to play despite coming off early against the Warriors with an ankle issue.

Centre Seb Kris is back on deck after missing the Dolphins game with a quad injury suffered in the warm-up. Panthers: Coach Ivan Cleary has named his Origin reps Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo, Casey McLean and Brian To'o in the reserves and will monitor their recovery. Star back-rower Liam Martin returns from a knee injury while Izack Tago and Luke Garner have been named in the centres for the time being. Jack Cogger will play halfback should Nathan Cleary not back up from Origin and Lindsay Smith will line up at lock if Yeo is rested.

Warriors: The loss of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to a season-ending ACL injury brings Adam Pompey into the centres. Marata Niukore has been added to the bench in place of Eddie Ieremia-Toeava (concussion). Dragons-bound playmaker Luke Metcalf is listed among the reserves as he chases a first NRL appearance since Round 5.
