All eyes will be on the State of Origin stars this weekend as the game's biggest names look to back up following Wednesday's clash at the MCG.

While the Panthers and Warriors have taken a cautious approach in the past, others such as Canberra duo Hudson Young and Ethan Strange are likely to take their place in the Raiders team for Sunday's clash with the Storm.

Knights: Origin pair Kalyn Ponga and Dylan Lucas have been named for Friday's match but coach Justin Holbrook indicated on Thursday he was leaning towards them not backing up given the short turnaround. Star centre Bradman Best is on track to make his return from a hamstring injury, with Fletcher Hunt shifting to the bench. Sandon Smith is also in the mix to return from a calf injury and remains in the extended squad. Depending on Ponga's fitness, Smith could come on to the interchange or into the halves, with Fletcher Sharpe shifting to fullback if the Queensland star does not back up.

Dragons: Coach Dean Young confirmed on Thursday that winger Christian Tuipulotu would return from a hamstring injury through NSW Cup meaning Setu Tu and Mat Feagai will line up as named. Luciano Leilua is also back in the mix after Jaydn Su'A suffered a pec injury a fortnight ago and is set to come off the interchange.

Wests Tigers: Adam Doueihi will be given every chance to prove his fitness as he pushes to return from a shoulder injury. The halfback remains in the extended squad, with Jock Madden to drop out of the starting side if Doueihi returns. Co-captain Api Koroisau will take his place after going unused by Blues coach Laurie Daley on Wednesday night. The loss of Kai Pearce-Paul to a pectoral injury will see Tony Sukkar take on a bigger role in the back row.

Dolphins: Queensland pair Max Plath and Kulikefu Finefeuiaki have been listed in the reserves, while Thomas Flegler, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Selwyn Cobbo will all miss the clash as coach Kristian Woolf takes a cautious approach with his Origin stars. Roosters: The additional rest between Wednesday's Origin and Sunday's match could work in the Roosters favour with James Tedesco, Mark Nawaqanitawase, Sam Walker, Reece Robson, Rob Toia, Lindsay Collins and Victor Radley all named to back up. Hugo Savala and Reece Foley have been ruled out after being placed in the concussion protocols.

Sharks: Origin hooker Blayke Brailey could be set for a shock return just three weeks after fracturing his arm and remains in the extended squad pending a final fitness test. Halfback Nicho Hynes is also in the reserves but could still be another week away from returning. In another boost, Jesse Colquhoun is on track to take his place in the team after being cleared of a concussion following a head knock last week.
