As it happened: Jenkins leads Penrith past Rabbitohs

Full-time: Penrith have flexed their premiership muscle with a dominant second half to claim a comprehensive victory over the Rabbitohs. Jye Gray appeared to have scored a remarkable try in the final play of the game, the South Sydney fullback kicking the ball along the ground five times and more than 50 metres before eventually grounding it in the in-goal. The Bunker, however, spotted a knock on by Cody Walker at the start of the play and disallowed the try. It's a 22-point win for the Panthers. Panthers 36 - Rabbitohs 14. 

79th minute: Penrith have lodged a late challenge after Brian To'o was ruled to have slid into touch before flicking the ball back in field. The winger was cleaning up a loose ball and the replays show he had offloaded before his foot touched the sideline. It's a successful challenge. Panthers 36 - Rabbitohs 14. 

78th minute: The Rabbitohs have got one back, Cody Walker laying on the try for Latrell Siegwalt. The veteran playmaker held the ball for long enough to draw in Paul Alamoti before passing to put his centre through the hole. Panthers 36 - Rabbitohs 14.

75th minute: South Sydney have a chance to close the gap after Jack Cogger was penalised for a high shot on Ashton Ward. The halfback raced out of the line to collect his opposite and has been sent to the sin bin for the tackle. Panthers 36 - Rabbitohs 10.

71st minute: Tom Jenkins has a hat-trick and Penrith are pulling away with this one now. Jack Cole and Blaize Talagi both produced quick hands to get the ball to Jenkins, who beat one defender before bumping off Jye Gray and slamming the ball down. Jenkins now has 25 tries for the season and continues his quest for the single-season record of 38. Panthers 34 - Rabbitohs 10.

68th minute: Billy Phillips has a crucial try and Penrith kick further clear. Paul Alamoti cut back infield and surged towards the try line, as the Rabbitohs defenders closed in, he offloaded out the back. The ball hit the deck and Phillips got his hands on the ball before spinning out of a tackle to score but it may have touched Jamie Humphreys hands in the battle for the loose ball. After a close look, the Bunker eventually clears the contest and confirms the try. Panthers 30 - Rabbitohs 10.

63rd minute: Never let the ball bounce. That's Phil Gould's rule and we just saw why. Ashton Ward put up a bomb, Dylan Edwards let it hit the deck and it bounced straight back to Latrell Siegwalt. There was nothing the fullback could do except watch Cody Walker race away to score. Replays, however, show Siegwalt was in front of the kicker, the Bunker has disallowed the try and Edwards can breathe a big sigh of relief. Penrith 24 - Rabbitohs 10.

58th minute: Tom Jenkins has somehow grounded the ball despite being tackled by multiple Rabbitohs defenders. The lead up work was excellent, but Jenkins was met head on by Keaon Koloamatangi, who tackled the winger. Jenkins attempted to reach out and get the ball down and somehow kept his fingers on the ball as he put it down. The Bunker took a forensic look at the replay before clearing the try. Panthers 24 - Rabbitohs 10. 

53rd minute: We've almost had a spectacular Penrith try from a miss-kick. It was last tackle, the Panthers kept the ball alive with multiple speculative offloads before it ended up in Liam Henry's hands. The forward was on his way to the try line before Dayne Jennings pulled off a desperate try-saving tackle to deny the Panther. Panthers 18 - Rabbitohs 10.

49th minute: Tom Jenkins take a bow. The Panthers winger has soared through the air, caught a bomb, fended away Jack Wighton and somehow grounded the ball before being bundled into touch. Jenkins has produced some freakish plays tonight but that is right up there. Panthers 18 - Rabbitohs 10. 

46th minute: South Sydney have made a Captain's Challenge after Dayne Jennings was ruled to have dropped a bomb upon hitting the deck. Replays show the winger bobbled the ball, regathered and secured possession. It's a big moment, instead of a Panthers attacking set, the Rabbitohs have a 20m tap and a seven-tackle set. Panthers 12 - Rabbitohs 10. 

Kick-off: We are back for the second half and Penrith have an early opportunity after a South Sydney error in their own half. Given the work they did to get back into the contest, it's a big defensive set coming up for the Rabbitohs. Panthers 12 - Rabbitohs 10.

Half-time: The Rabbitohs have struck on the stroke of half-time, capitalising on a Dylan Edwards error and a scrum with just 30 seconds left on the clock. Dayne Jennings was the man to score in the right corner to pull his team within two. Penrith controlled the early aspects of the first half and jumped out to a 12-0 lead but South Sydney hung tough, slowly worked their way into the contest and had the better of the final 15 minutes to set up a cracking second half. Panthers 12 - Rabbitohs 10. 

39th minute: South Sydney have lodged a Captain's Challenge after Ed Kosi was ruled to have knocked the ball on while attempting an offload. The winger was in the process of being dragged into touch, but before he got the ball, Brian To'o had got a slight touch on the ball while it was in flight. Instead of a Penrith attacking set, South Sydney have a scrum on their own 40-metre line and a late chance to strike. Panthers 12 - Rabbitohs 4.

36th minute: Both teams have nearly scored in the one play. Jack Wighton set Dayne Jennings up, the Rabbitohs winger in clear space but he spilled the pass. Penrith scooped up the loose ball and Tom Jenkins set sail for the corner, only to be denied by Jye Gray and taken into touch. Panthers 12 - Rabbitohs 4.

32nd minute: The Bunker is being called on to address a potential Panthers try and Tom Jenkins pulled off a spectacular catch. The winger leapt through the air and caught the ball before offloading to Blaize Talagi in one motion. The youngster scooped up the ball off his boots but couldn't get the ball down before Jack Wighton forced his foot into touch. Panthers 12 - Rabbitohs 4.

25th minute: Momentum has shifted back to the Rabbitohs and they have broken through. Jye Gray put his side on the attack, Penrith held firm for multiple repeat sets of six but the fatigue proved too great and Ed Kosi scored in the corner. Panthers 12 - Rabbitohs 4.

18th minute: South Sydney can breathe a big sigh of relief. The Panthers were straight back on the attack and forced a line dropout, however the Rabbitohs went short, Brian To'o spilled the ball and Wayne Bennett's men take possession. Panthers 12 - Rabbitohs 0.

13th minute: It hasn't taken Penrith long to capitalise on the extra man, Lindsay Smith delivering a perfect pass for Liam Henry, who skips to the outside of David Fifita, reaches out and slams the ball down. Panthers 12 - Rabbitohs 0.

12th minute: We're going back to the Bunker, this time at the other end of the field with Tom Jenkins claiming a try. The on-field referee thinks he has spotted a Panthers knock on in the contest to catch a bomb, with Scott Sorensen going up to compete with Dayne Jennings. The Rabbitoh knocked on first, before it went forward off Sorensen. It's no try but Penrith have an attacking scrum. Panthers 6 - Rabbitohs 0.

11th minute: We're off to the bunker with Dayne Jennings claiming a Rabbitohs try in the corner. Cody Walker, however, lashed out and kicked Jack Cogger at marker after playing the ball. The kick caused a minor scuffle, the try is disallowed and Walker is sent to the sin bin. Panthers 6 - Rabbitohs 0.

8th minute: It's been an end-to-end start to the match, with Dylan Edwards putting Liam Henry through a hole the set after his try. South Sydney scrambled to deny the Panthers and then received a penalty and attacking chance of their own. A forward pass, however, brought the set of six to an early end. Panthers 6 - Rabbitohs 0.

4th minute: It's a perfect start for Penrith, Dylan Edwards producing a spectacular solo try. The fullback latched on to an offload from Paul Alamoti before running 50 metres, stepping past Jye Gray and fending off Latrell Siegwalt to score the try. In positional news for the Panthers, Jack Cole was named in the centres but looks to be playing in the halves, with Blaize Talagi shifting to centre. Panthers 6 - Rabbitohs 0.

Kick-off: We are underway at CommBank Stadium with Penrith out to snap a two-game losing streak. The Rabbitohs are in form, having won their past two matches and eager to solidify their place in the top eight. Jack Wighton is back from a broken arm for South Sydney, while Panthers winger Brian To'o has a point to prove after missing out on NSW selection for Wednesday's decider. Panthers 0 - Rabbitohs 0.

Panthers: One more late change for Penrith with Jack Cole moving from the bench to start at centre and Izack Tago shifting to the interchange. Luke Garner came out of the side in Thursday's 24-hour update, replaced in the starting side by Billy Phillips. That brings Zakauri Clarke onto the six-man bench. Phillips and Scott Sorensen line up in the back row after Isaiah Papali'i was ruled out with a concussion and with Liam Martin away on NSW duties. Nathan Cleary and Isaah Yeo are also off with the Blues, with Jack Cogger taking over at halfback and Lindsay Smith at lock. Brian To'o will take his place on the wing after missing out on NSW selection. The Panthers have won 13 of their last 16 games against the Rabbitohs.

Rabbitohs: South Sydney will line up 1-19, with no late changes on gameday. Jack Wighton is on track to return from a broken arm but South Sydney have been dealt a blow with record-breaking try-scorer Alex Johnston struck down due to a calf injury. Wighton's return at centre will see Tallis Duncan shift to the back-row, with Dayne Jennings replacing Johnston on the wing. Matt Dufty is also back in the six-man bench and could play his first game since Round 12.
