Shaun Mielekamp appointed Wests Tigers CEO

The Wests Tigers are pleased to announce the permanent appointment of Shaun Mielekamp as the Club’s Chief Executive Officer.

Mielekamp – who has been serving as Interim CEO since late-2025 – will now officially assume the position following unanimous support from the Wests Tigers Board.

A highly regarded sports administrator, Mielekamp arrived at Concord in 2024 as General Manager of Community, Foundation and Affiliates – where he played an integral role in the growth and success of Wests Tigers Empower – in addition to several special projects across the Club.

Previously serving as CEO of the Central Coast Mariners FC for more than nine years, Mielekamp took one of the smallest clubs in the A-League to an unprecedented level of success both domestically and internationally.

Mielekamp oversaw the Mariners rise from the bottom of the ladder, to becoming a finals contender and ultimately securing back-to-back Grand Final victories in 2023 and 2024.

In addition to his achievements in football, Mielekamp’s experience is grounded in rugby league across a variety of commercial roles at the Penrith Panthers and South Sydney Rabbitohs.

With a strong track record of unifying teams, clubs and communities; Mielekamp has laid the foundations of his vision for the Wests Tigers throughout 2026, working closely with the Club’s respective Boards to align on a path to long-term success.

Wests Tigers Chair, Barry O’Farrell AO welcomed the news of Mielekamp’s permanent appointment.

“Shaun has done a wonderful job since joining us in 2024 and on behalf of the Board, I’d like to congratulate him on this appointment – it’s thoroughly deserved,” O’Farrell said.

Throughout this year, Shaun has proven just how valuable he is to this Club, bringing everyone together around a shared vision for the Wests Tigers

“We’ve secured a highly sought after administrator, with a strong track record. This is a huge win for everyone connected with the Wests Tigers and we look forward to working with Shaun over the remainder of 2026 and beyond.”

Wests Tigers Deputy Chair, Frank Primerano said Mielekamp had been exceptional throughout his time as Interim CEO.

“I can’t thank Shaun enough for the work he’s done this year. He’s a fantastic person and a wonderful leader for this Club,” Primerano said.

“Shaun brings so much experience to this role and his efforts behind the scenes in supporting the strategic work of the Board, as well as working closely with all those connected to the Wests Tigers, has been first class.

“This is a great moment for our Club and the direction we’re collectively heading, we’re all so pleased for Shaun and are excited about what we can achieve together.”

On the confirmation of his permanent appointment, Mielekamp thanked the Board for their support.

“I’m really honoured to be given the role of Wests Tigers CEO,’’ Mielekamp said.

“I’m proud of the fact that this isn’t as much about me, but it’s about confidence in the Club and the direction we’re going, particularly the executive team who has been a driving force in our rise over the last couple of years.

“It’s a privilege to come to work every day with such a fantastic group of people, and I’m grateful to both the Holman Barnes Group and the Wests Tigers Board for the opportunity to lead this proud Club.

“There’s a real sense of unity both inside and outside the Club and we’re all headed in the same direction, which I truly believe puts us in a great position for the long-term.

“I’ll be relentless in pursuit of the success our Members and fans want for their Club, making sure we have everything we need to win football games.”
