It's become a common catchcry of the Billy Slater Queensland Maroons era - with success in the Origin arena in his mind boiling down to the team's ability to 'get our game on'.
For Slater, it's in the intangibles.
It's in the invisible threads of a common purpose and in the things that don't need to be said.
It's in rugby league's favourite idiom - the one percenters.
“I don't know if I can tell you or tell everyone our secrets," Origin newcomer Briton Nikora said with a polite smile when asked how he understood Slater's philosophy.
“It's the way he explains stuff … 'getting our game on' is just all the stuff without the ball, really.
“It's effort, being a selfless teammate.
“It all the traits that – if you're a person watching on TV – you might not see all of.
"It’s all of the things that he's looking at and what he builds up and that's what we build our game on.
“Being a selfless teammate, doing things for others and just working together.
“What we do that you don't see in the stats."
Slater's 'secret sauce' also applied in his team selections, with some players sometimes considered by outsiders to be luckier than others to get a call up into one of sport's toughest arenas.
Again, Nikora never doubts his coach, trusting he is watching and seeing the work he puts into his game every time he runs out for his state, his country, his culture and his club.
“People can say this and that about players, and it happens to all of us, but Billy's got a different mindset," Nikora said.
“He sees stuff that other people don't. He sees the effort stuff ...
"Someone like Billy, someone like all our coaching staff ... when they've given me the opportunity to go out there and represent Queensland, it gives me confidence in my game.
“It just gives me confidence and I'm humbled by the type of player that he was and he's given me this opportunity."
For fellow forwards Thomas Flegler and Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, the feeling was the same.
"Individually, you do what you need to do to get your game on, which is just going out there and playing the best of your ability," Flegler said.
"It's also when you are out there just playing as a team member and being a bit selfless at times.
“Everyone's been selected for their own individual performances.
“So, I guess when you come into teams like this, you don't need to change anything.
“You've been selected for a reason, so just play how you would usually play.
"You've got so many great players around you, so a lot of people just rise to the occasion."
Fa'asuamaleaui said it was something innate, but built on over time.
“It's the habits and traits that we've created with the Queensland jersey, and it's been happening for years," Fa'asuamaleaui said.
“That's why Queensland have done so well (in the past) and those habits have been passed through.
"But this group’s been together for a long time now, we've really nailed it in terms of some little efforts or habit areas that make us Queenslanders.
“We've really focused on that and when times get tough out there, we've got to revert back to that.
“There are a lot of those habits that we've formed with this group and that's our game.
"Everyone that plays for Queensland always finds that extra effort to put in for the state and for the brothers around them.
“I guess everyone in the NRL does it (for their teams), but we've just got a good bond here at Queensland that we all try our best for each other and put our best foot forward."
