The Broncos have snapped an eight-game losing streak with a gutsy 14-12 win over the Panthers at CommBank Stadium.

Superstar fullback Reece Walsh again produced a magical play with the game on the line, sending winger Josiah Karapani over with a trademark cut-out pass before converting the try from the touchline with 10 minutes to play.

Sitting four games outside the eight, the Broncos had no margin for error with five games in a row against sides currently sitting inside the eight - Panthers, Cowboys, Knights, Dolphins and Warriors.

In danger of becoming the first defending premier to miss the finals the following season since Wests Tigers in 2006, the Broncos got their stars back tonight and turned in one of their best performances of the season.

Michael Maguire's men completed 42 of 47 sets at 89 per cent in atrocious conditions and controlled the game through the kicking of Adam Reynolds and Walsh.
