NRLW Saturday: Raiders, Sharks kick off Round 4

After pushing the high-flying Roosters to the limit last week the Raiders will be out to make amends when they launch the NRLW Saturday triple at home against the Sharks.

The Sharks are yet to open their account but the 2024 grand finalists have proven countless times that they can rise from the canvas when things are tough.

The Bulldogs and Dragons do battle in the second Saturday clash with both sides boasting 1-2 records and looking to build.

The blue and whites are coming off a win and will be feeling confident while the Red V have had to dust themselves off after being held scoreless in Newcastle.

Our final match takes us to Townsville where the Cowboys are out to turn their fortunes around against Karyn Murphy's powerful Titans line-up that is capable of putting on tries from anywhere when Jaime Chapman, Indie Bostock and Teagan Levi hit top gear.

Raiders v Sharks at GIO Stadium

14th min: The Raiders are their own worst enemy at the moment, with the ill-discipline allowing the Sharks to camp on their line. The visitors try a play down the left before shifting right out to Georgia Ravics, who tries to drag defenders to the line, reaches out and just loses possession before she can plant it down.

10th min: Boom! Sharks fullback Jada Taylor looks set to break away after fielding a long kick but runs into a crunching tackle from Raiders lock Simaima Taufa, who is looking to inspire her side into action.

7th min: The Sharks are over through Cassie Staples! The Sharks have been heaping the pressure on the home side to start this one, enjoying repeat sets in Raiders territory. The left side has been favoured early and the persistence pays off with quick hands to the winger. Chantay Kiria-Ratu misses the conversion attempt. Sharks lead 4-0.

3rd min: The two teams make a solid start with completed sets. Sharks captain Quincy Dodd was penalised for a high tackle but the Raiders fail to find touch and it's the Sharks who get an attacking set.

Kickoff: We're underway on a fantastic day for footy in the nation's capital.

Late Mail

Raiders: English international Hollie-Mae Dodd comes on to the interchange in the final squad update after overcoming a head knock that forced her out of last week's tight loss to the Roosters, while Charlotte Basham is also confirmed. Last week's debutant Ellie Brander drops out of the 17, but is retained as the replacement player.

Sharks: Najvada George will start the game at lock with Tegan Dymock moving to the bench. Maddison Higgins-Ashby has been named at centre and is set to retain that role after impressing in place of Tiana Penitani-Gray last week. Rhiannon Byres remains the replacement player. It's been a winless start to the year, but the Sharks have won all three games played against the Raiders.
