NRLW Late Mail: Apt return for Apps in milestone game

Wests Tigers skipper Kezie Apps has been named to return for her side's maiden finals appearance in her 50th NRLW game.

The Jillaroos co-captain was a late withdrawal from the team sheet last week, needing more time to overcome a leg injury.

Wests Tigers: Skipper Kezie Apps will return from a leg injury for her 50th game. Her inclusion in the second row moves Shaniece Monschau to prop, shuffling Christian Pio to the bench and Tara Reinke to 18th player. Caitlin Turnbull is also named to return at fullback, moving Kayla Henderson to the reserves, where she is joined by representative winger Emily Bass.

Raiders: No changes to the line up that got the job done against Wests Tigers in Round 11. Winger Mackenzie Wiki opened the scoring last week and has now scored six tries in her last five games. Fresh off her Mal Meninga Medal win as the club's NRLW player of the year, Kiwi centre Leianne Tufuga will feature in her 51st game.

Broncos: An unchanged side from Round 11, with former premiership winners at the Knights, Romy Teitzel (second row), Jesse Southwell (halfback) and skipper Tamika Upton (fullback) ready to go against their old team. Retiring great Ali Brigginshaw said she was focused on getting a win to help get her team back into a grand final, but was taking in every moment. "I have always said, every game that I play, I play it like it's my last," Brigginshaw said. "I play every minute like it's my last … it's been good to be able to have laughs with the girls about the 'last lasts'."

Knights: Tiana Davison returns to the line-up at prop. This moves Emily McArthur back to the bench. Forwards Amelia Pasikala and Simone Karpani both revert to the reserves, with young gun Stella Lewis named on the bench for her NRLW debut. "There's no better time to make a debut," Knights coach Ben Jeffries said. "Obviously she understands what's in front of her, she understands her role, so hopefully she can go out and do it, but all that's all we ask for her."
