Harvey Norman Jillaroos team to face England

Two more new faces will make their Jillaroos debuts when Australia takes on England in their second game of the IRL Rugby League World Cup.

Roosters premiership winner Sariah Paki and recent St George Illawarra Dragons signing Makenzie Weale will make their debuts from the bench as Australia renew their rivalry with England.

After five-eighth Jocelyn Kelleher entered the international arena with a bang last round, claiming player of the match honours in the win over Samoa, Jillaroos coach Jess Skinner was pleased to give two more deserving players their debut caps.

“We are really happy to give Makenzie and Sariah their opportunity to take to the field this week against England,” Skinner said.

“They have been training well since coming into camp and have been key members of the squad, helping prepare the whole team for the challenges ahead.

“I’m excited to see the impact they’ll bring off the bench, adding energy, physicality and momentum through our rotation.”

Other changes see Abbi Church come into the backline on the wing, with Julia Robinson moving into the centres for Jess Sergis, who is being rested.

Tiana Penitani Gray will start in the second row after coming from the bench in the win over Fetu Samoa, with Kezie Apps also rested.

Cronulla Sharks and Indigenous All Stars rake Quincy Dodd is the other new face on the bench.

The Jillaroos will take on England at Perth’s HBF Park on Saturday.
