Jillaroos superstar Julia Robinson is hoping to gain a new set of fans when Australia take on England in their IRL Rugby League World Cup contest in Perth.
Headlining Saturday's double-header at HBF Park, the Jillaroos have been embraced by WA rugby league fans since touching down last Sunday, including mingling with fans at their open training session at North Beach Rugby League Football Club.
They also shared tips on the game with local female players from across the NRL WA competitions who had been invited in to take part in an opposed session as Jess Skinner's team fine-tuned their preparations for the ‘old enemy’.
“It's really special to come over to Perth, trying to make our game bigger and showcase what we can do in our game,” Robinson said.
“We always want to keep growing our game and (we want to) try and get as many people there (to the stadium) to showcase what we can do.
“Hopefully we get heaps of people to come out.”
Julia Robinson chats her wonder try and place in history
As the reigning Golden Boot winner, Robinson should be used to having eyes on her game after going viral during last year’s Pacific Championships for her freakish try-scoring efforts.
Her 'Super Woman' dive to pluck a Jesse Southwell kick out of the air and bring it back down over the line against Samoa attracting praise from Matildas legend Sam Kerr among others.
Shifted from the wing to the centres this week in a reshuffled Jillaroos line-up, Robinson will reach the milestone of 15 Test matches, making the Perth Test match even more special for the 28-year-old.
“To be able to play one game in the Jillaroos jersey is a huge honour, but to be able to do 15 with this team is incredible, and I feel very honoured,” Robinson said.
Australia v Samoa – Round 1, 2026
“We have so many awesome players in this team and being one of those girls who've reached the milestones, I am truly honoured and proud.
“I'm very honoured to do that and to be able to be here for the World Cup is incredible.”
The last meeting between the two nations resulted in a 90-4 victory to the Jillaroos in Las Vegas at the start of 2025 but Robinson expects a vastly different challenge this time around.
“We know they're going to come out strong,” she said.
“I guess from the game last year in Vegas, definitely they've come over here to I prove that they do belong in the World Cup as well.

“I'm sure they're going to come out strong and we're just going to play our game and we know what we need to do.
“Not much at all (we can take out of that game). They've got a different team so they're definitely a lot stronger now.
“The performance they had last week (against Wales) was really impressive, so they're definitely going to be a lot stronger than the Vegas team.”
