Several NRL stars have named Suncorp Stadium as their favourite away venue.

QRL Managing Director Robert Moore says Queensland would be more than happy to host more State of Origin games in the new cycle from 2019.

The comments came after the NRL announced that Game Two of the 2019 Origin series would be played in Perth – a first for the concept.

"There's no doubt about the economic value of the game going to Perth," Moore said.

"It will help develop the game in Western Australia, but we still believe that there needs to be balance and that sometime in that cycle we get two games in Queensland in one series.

"We aren't selling out the fans. There's always an expectation that games will be played in Queensland because of how difficult it is to play in New South Wales. We like the home ground advantage."

2019 marks the start of a new a new Origin cycle and that means games will be up for grabs interstate and possibly overseas if the interest is present.

Moore says if Queensland are going to lose games to other parts of the country then there should be an option to take a match from New South Wales.

"If there's a time in the next cycle that a second game wasn't wanted in New South Wales then we would definitely be happy to take it."

But Moore stressed that Queensland will have at least one game per series at Suncorp Stadium from 2019.

Ideally, he hopes the new five-year cycle beginning in 2019 will result in Queensland and New South Wales receiving an equal amount of home matches over the five-year period.

"We've been in discussion with the NRL for quite a while. We think that we need to find a balance," he said.
