Mitchell Pearce during his final season as a Rooster in 2017.

The Manly Sea Eagles have been in discussions with Mitchell Pearce to lure him across the bridge as the Sydney Roosters look to finalise a deal with Australian halfback Cooper Cronk.

It is understood Manly are keen to sign Pearce if Cronk, as widely reported, inks a two-year deal with the Roosters.

Pearce has two years remaining on his deal with the Tricolours and it is believed the 28-year-old is unhappy about potentially being forced to take a back seat at the Roosters and could be tempted to walk away from the club in the coming days.

It is believed the Roosters have given Pearce a couple of days to consider his options.

Manly are in the box seat to claim Pearce's services.

NRL.com can reveal the Sea Eagles have already reached an agreement with the Warriors which would allow five-eighth Blake Green to switch across the ditch to link with the Auckland-based club on a lucrative multi-year deal.

Cronk's deal with the Sydney Roosters is expected to be rubberstamped in the near future, leaving Pearce's immediate future in a precarious position.
