Kicking off on August 21–24, the NRL and Telstra is going back to where it all began - local footy fields, muddy boots, and junior club pride. It’s the Telstra Footy Country Round, and it’s all about celebrating the next generation of footy legends.
Across select games, training sessions and captain’s calls, NRL and NRLW stars will proudly wear the socks of their junior clubs - a colourful tribute to the grassroots teams that shaped them. On game day, fans will see those socks pictured on the field and the words Supporting Footy Together written across the turf, reminding us all that big dreams start small.
Junior players will take the field at halftime in key matches, standing where their heroes play and soaking up the roar of the crowd.
Telstra knows that when kids play footy, they grow more than just skills - they build confidence, resilience, and lifelong mateships. That’s why they’re backing 50 junior clubs with Footy Packs full of gear to keep the game thriving in every corner of Australia.
