Intern & Mentor Program

The NRL in partnership with Harvey Norman will again deliver the Harvey Norman Women in League Mentoring Program in 2026, aimed at empowering and accelerating the careers of women across the game. The initiative pairs high-performing female employees from Clubs, States and the NRL with experienced executive mentors who provide guidance, share insights and support professional growth. Designed as an ongoing annual program, it plays an important role in developing future female leaders and advancing gender equity within the industry.

Running from July to December 2026, the program includes monthly mentor–mentee catch‑ups, with participants carefully matched based on career aspirations and leadership goals. It will launch with a full-day professional development workshop at Rugby League Central, Moore Park on Tuesday 14 July, followed by the Harvey Norman Women in League Round Launch at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney that evening.

The NRL Women in League Internship Program focuses on creating new opportunities for women to be represented across the game, providing on-the-job experience for aspiring young females looking to forge a path in Rugby League.

2026 Women in League Intern, Alexa Marshall

“Being selected as a Women in League Intern has been a truly transformative experience, offering invaluable exposure to both the retail and sporting industries through Harvey Norman and the NRL. It has expanded my skill set, sharpened my career perspective, and connected me with inspiring female leaders whose insight and mentorship have profoundly strengthened my confidence and sense of direction.”

2026 Women in League Intern, Eva Delimihalis

“My Women in League internship has been career-defining, with opportunities through the NRL and Harvey Norman exceeding anything I imagined while still in my final year of university.

Having the support to purse my aspirations in sports journalism and media has been incredibly impactful. With guidance and support around me, I’ve been able to consistently publish articles, interview players and coaches and gain valuable industry experience. Reaching milestones, I once thought were years away.

The internship has given me a platform to connect and meet one-on-one with influential leaders, most notably Harvey Norman CEO, Katie Page. As a young woman entering the industry, being able to learn directly from a leader of her calibre has been both empowering and motivating.  An experience that will shape the future of my career.”
