After an exciting first week of the Telstra Premiership finals, two teams have exited the competition and six team remain in the hunt for premiership glory.

Tonight on NRL Daily hosts John Gibbs and Brad Fittler review the matches and give their thoughts on how they were won and lost.

Friday night's battle between the Bulldogs and Sea Eagles kicked off the finals series with the Bulldogs taking victory 16-10 at ANZ Stadium.

"I think the Bulldogs handled the tense rivalry better," said Gibbs. "I think the occasion got the better of Manly."

The Storm and Cowboys also tasted victory and have edged a step closer to the grand final, but it was the Raiders who excited Gibbs the most.

"I loved watching the running battle between Josh Papalli and Paul Gallen," he said.

"It will definitely be a more difficult game for the Raiders up against the Rabbitohs than it was against the Sharks."
