Recognition & Awards Committee 

The National Rugby League (NRL) has established a Recognition and Awards Committee (RAC) to assist with the strategic direction of the game's Recognition and Awards framework.

The committee consists of seven (7) representatives from across the rugby league community that possess the requisite knowledge, experience and expertise to support the NRL and its endeavours in developing a comprehensive awards framework

Awards Sub-Committee

The Awards Sub-Committee is the internal working group charged with the implementation of the game's Recognition and Awards strategic framework.

The committee is made up of several representatives from across the organisation tasked with the design, build, coordination and delivery of the NRL Recognition and Awards programs in consultation with key stakeholders and the overarching Recognition and Awards Committee (see Recognition & Awards Committee)

Screening Committee/s

A seven (7) member Screening Committee will be put in place for both the Hall of Fame vote and the Immortals selection process.

Comprising of a cross-section of the game, each committee will be tasked with assessing, scrutinising and ultimately reducing the extended list of players from the official Hall of Fame Provisional Ballot (see Provisional Ballot) and the Hall of Fame Register (see Hall of Fame Register) to a final selection stage.

The Screening Committee is to be chaired by a member of the Recognition & Awards Steering Committee elected by the Awards Sub-Committee. (see Screening Process).

Screening Committee Criteria

1. Committee must be chaired by a member of the RAC

2. Individual must not be a qualified nominee for the designated provisional ballot

3. Individual must not be a member of the NRL Awards Sub-Committee

Voting College – Hall of Fame

The Voting College is made up of select Hall of Fame members, Media representatives, Rugby League Historians, Statisticians and Independent members nominated by the Awards Sub-Committee (see Awards Sub-Committee) to take part in the official selection process.

The Voting College is tasked with electing new inductees from the Final Ballot (see Final Ballot) into the NRL Hall of Fame.

Voting College Criteria

1. Individual must not be a qualified nominee for the Hall of Fame Final Ballot

2. Individual must not be a member of the NRL Awards Sub-Committee

3. Individual must not be represented on the Hall of Fame Screening Committee

Selection Panel - Immortals

The Selection Panel is the designated group charged with bestowing the greatest honour for a rugby league player – Immortal status. The twelve (12) member Selection Panel will be made up of a cross-section of the game.

The Selection Panel will convene on the eve of the Hall of Fame induction night and will be tasked with selecting who - from the final Immortals ballot (see Final Ten) - is worthy of joining the game's highest echelon.

Selection Panel Criteria

1. Selection Panel must be chaired by a member of the RAC

2. Individual must not be a member of the NRL Awards Sub-Committee

3. Individual must not be represented on the Immortals Screening Committee
