The entire Newcastle Knights First Grade squad, trainers and team officials will reveal all for a special cause next week, when they shave their heads for Children’s Cancer at Westfield Kotara.

The Knights have opted for the new look in support of former team mate and Warriors prop, Jesse Royal, after his three year-old son, Matarae was recently diagnosed with stage three Burkitt’s lymphoma, a cancer of the immune system.

New South Wales Captain, Kurt Gidley will lead the Knights and NXFM’s Steve Graham into centre square next Thursday night, where Newcastle TAFE hairdressing students will launch a full scale attack, armed with clippers and razors in a mass production line.

“He’s a great fella Jesse, he had a lot of great friends in Newcastle and still has and we’re right behind his family in this difficult time,” Gidley said.
