The Rugby League Accredited Player Agents Scheme committee has appointed Neil Cadigan to replace Paul Osborne as its operations manager.
Neil has had a widespread involvement in Rugby League for over three decades, incorporating several media positions and administrative roles in Australia and Britain.
Most recently he served as a media consultant to the NRL during the Centenary year after seven years as managing editor of the NRL’s official magazine, Big League, during which he carried out managerial as well as an editorial roles across several publications. He has also recently concentrated on his other passion of writing, becoming a successful biographical author.
Previously Neil had worked as marketing manager for the Newcastle Knights and the Hunter Mariners as well as general manager of English top division club Wakefield Trinity. He also worked briefly as a player agent.
Chairman of the Player Agents Accreditation Committee, Mr Geoff Bellew, said today: “I welcome Neil to the position as a person who has had a cross-section of experience in rugby league over a long period, both as a journalist and as an administrator.
“He is well regarded for his integrity, passion and strong work ethic and great understanding of the sport on many levels.
“Paul Osborne has done a wonderful job establishing and developing the scheme to a position where it is widely accepted as an important institution in the Rugby League landscape and I look forward to Neil’s contribution in continuing its success.”
