The Telstra Premiership has today set an NRL record for regular season attendances and is poised to set the biggest regular season attendance in the game’s history.
With the Brisbane-Canberra match still to be played, already 3,046,737 fans have now attended Telstra Premiership matches this season, smashing the previous best NRL mark of 3,024,149 set in 2007.
The highest regular season attendance in the code’s history is 3,061,338, set in the 20-team ARL competition in 1995.
The 2009 Telstra Premiership will also record its second highest ever average attendance, after the 2005 season.
