Whilst the main membership battle has been between the St George-Illawarra Dragons and South Sydney Rabbitohs to be the first NSW club to reach 10,000 ticketed members, the Brisbane Broncos have continued to reaffirm their number one position, reaching a new club record for ticketed memberships this week.

Already coming off a high membership base, the Broncos have already eclipsed their 2009 figure of 11,983 earlier this week, and have for the first time in the club’s history secured their 12,000th ticketed club member.

The news of the club’s 12,000 ticketed member being signed comes as the Queensland blockbuster between the Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys went on sale to the general public on Monday morning.  A record 6,000 tickets were sold in the opening 90 minutes of going on sale, easily outselling last years pre-sale for this particular match.

Commenting on the strong opening dale sales, Broncos chief executive Bruno Cullen said “"Obviously we are delighted by the overwhelming amount of interest shown this morning, however our major focus is still on season memberships,"

"We have held thousands of seats back from sale to ensure our season members receive the best seats in the house."

"Aside from the savings, there are many extra benefits associated with becoming a season ticket holder so we encourage all our fans to 'hold on to your seat'."
