Today is the day fans have waited five months for – tickets for the opening rounds of the most eagerly awaited Telstra Premiership in memory will go on sale at 9.00am AEDT on Monday, March 1.

The excitement and skills of the Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars match, the commitment of Wests Tigers superstar Benji Marshall to a lifetime deal at the club, the unpredictable brilliance of Jarryd Hayne and the belief among all fans that their team will be the one to win this year’s Premiership have helped set the scene for a blockbuster start to the year.

And with tickets expected to sell quickly, all fans are urged to get in early and secure the best possible seats. Tickets for the opening round blockbuster between the Broncos and Cowboys at Suncorp Stadium are already on sale and selling fast.

“Everyone is counting down the days to the start of the Telstra Premiership,” NRL Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, said.

“The excitement around the All Stars match, Community Carnival and trials across the country show how happy fans are to have the footy back and the opening round action is something everyone will want to be part of.

“Already we have seen new major sponsors come on board, clubs are breaking membership records and record numbers of kids are registering to play Rugby League.

“There is going to be a big demand for tickets and I encourage all fans to get in early and book their seats as tickets will sell quickly.

“Of course, the best way to secure your seat is to become an NRL Club Member.”

In a thrilling start to the Telstra Premiership, the Eels will clash with the Dragons at Parramatta Stadium while the Broncos and Cowboys will play at Suncorp Stadium.

The action continues when the Knights face the team that eliminated them from last year’s finals – the Bulldogs – at ANZ Stadium, the Sharks tackle Premiers Melbourne at Toyota Stadium, the Panthers host the Raiders at CUA Stadium, the Titans face the Warriors at Skilled Park, the Rabbitohs and Roosters meet for the 200th time in their NRL Family Fun Day match at ANZ Stadium, while Wests Tigers and Sea Eagles play the season’s first Monday night match at the Sydney Football Stadium.

Tickets for all matches are available at www.nrl.com/tickets or, better still, get your NRL Club Membership and beat the queues with big savings on tickets and ticket packages, with the same great seat every game and heaps of other benefits.
