Disciplinary action will be taken against players involved in a fight during a match between Dubbo Senior Campus High School and Orange High school in the Astley Cup.

Country Rugby League Chief Executive, Terry Quinn said today it was disappointing that the incident marred a competition which had been played in such good spirit.

He said all players involved in the game have been stood down from rugby league activities until an official hearing can take place.

The CRL will advise the relevant junior League bodies that players from the two teams cannot take part in weekend junior league matches.

A panel, comprising members of the CRL and NRL Game Development will be appointed to determine charges arising from the match.

A hearing will then be convened to hear the charges.

“We take this kind of incident very seriously,” Mr Quinn said.

“It would be inappropriate to make any further comment until the hearing is completed,” Mr Quinn said.
