3. Sia Soliola - After a stint in the Super League Soliola proved to be exactly what a young Canberra team needed, his bone-rattling defence matched with a cool head that saw him named the club's player of the year and recipient of the Mal Meninga Medal.

The Canberra Raiders have been dealt a double blow in the race for the finals with experienced forward Sia Soliola and English international Josh Hodgson both suffering injuries in the 34-22 loss to the North Queensland Cowboys in Round 21.

Soliola will miss the rest of the season after fracturing his cheekbone early in the second half, while Hodgson’s ankle injury will force him out for the next couple of weeks.

Sisa Waqa is recovering well from his minor knee injury and is set to take the field in Round 23 against the Manly Sea Eagles at GIO Stadium.
