Mint commemorates Moments that Matter at NRL Nation
The Royal Australian Mint (the Mint) will be heading to Sydney in the lead up to the 2015 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final to get fans game ready with the ultimate finals day souvenir.
To commemorate the exciting National Rugby League season the Mint is bringing the mobile press to Sydney, allowing fans to strike their own 'S' for Sydney on the 2015 $1 Uncirculated Counterstamp Coin, available only from NRL Nation in Darling Harbour.
"With passion running high in every game, fans are waiting with bated breath to see which team gains the premiership title. As the Mint's first NRL Premiership Season coin, the design captures this excitement, remembering the moments that matter," said Ross MacDiarmid, Chief Executive Officer.
"Partnering with the National Rugby League in production of this coin, we are pleased to be able to commemorate such an exciting season on Australian legal tender for NRL fans," said Mr MacDiarmid.
Featuring an artistic representation of on-field action, this piece embodies the spectacular tries, courageous defence and the brilliant skills that highlight why Rugby League is the Greatest Game of All.
As an integral part of the Grand Final lead-up celebrations, the Mint will be onsite at NRL Nation, Darling Harbour from Thursday 1 October until Saturday 3 October 2015 where the 2015 $1 Uncirculated 'S' for Sydney Counterstamp Coin will retail for only $15 each.
"In an exciting first, we’ll be giving those that buy one of these coins an opportunity to go into a draw to win 1 of 500 coins that will have the Grand Final team colours printed on them – Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys – the first ever NRL teams to have their colours on a coin," said Mr MacDiarmid.

Retailing for $120.00 collectors can try their luck to score the rare versions of the fine silver coin, pack of ten officially licensed trading cards and maxicard.
