New South Wales (NSW) Blues coach Laurie Daley visited Junee Monday as part of a local ‘Footy Facilities Fund’ announcement, with $75,000 awarded towards upgrades for the local Laurie Daley Oval.

Daley, a Junee local, was joined by the Member for Cootamundra, Katrina Hodgkinson MP, NRL General Manager of Game Development, Andrew Hill and representatives from the Junee football club for the announcement.

Funding will go towards the construction of an amenities block, with additional spectator seating and a walkway upgraded at Laurie Daley Oval.

The NSW Footy Facilities Fund is a partnership of the NRL and NSW Government and has provided more than $2.2 million in funding over the past three years to more than 50 rugby league clubs across NSW, improving rugby league grounds and facilities.

“This local investment shows the NRL and NSW State Government’s continued commitment to deliver improvements for grassroots rugby league clubs and in turn, nurture our stars of the future,” said NRL General Manager of Game Development, Andrew Hill.
