Finals Week Three Results:
Broncos 31 defeated Roosters 12
Cowboys 32 defeated Storm 12
In perhaps a sign of things to come, the Broncos' preliminary final clash with the Roosters started off in the worse fashion possible for the latter when a Shaun Kenny-Dowall pass was intercepted by try-scoring Brisbane fullback Darius Boyd in the first minute of the game. Though they had 79 minutes to recover, the initial kick in the teeth was too much for the Roosters to bounce back from. Try-scoring doubles from Gavin Cooper and Michael Morgan ensured the NRL grand final would be an all-Queensland affair with the Cowboys producing a big win over the Storm in Melbourne.
