Brisbane Broncos prop Adam Blair has been found guilty of a grade one dangerous contact – head and neck charge on South Sydney's Adam Reynolds and will miss Sunday's game against the Sharks.
Judicial council Peter McGrath was of the opinion that Blair's shoulder came into contact with the head of the Rabbitohs halfback and that the Brisbane star was careless and had been in a position to avoid contact with Reynolds.
It was a sentiment that judiciary panellists Matt Cooper, Sean Garlick and Mal Cochrane agreed on in finding Blair guilty, with the Kiwis prop also left with an additional 89 carryover points.
Defensive council Nick Ghabar unsuccessfully argued that the panellists couldn't be "comfortably satisfied" that Blair's shoulder or arm came into contact with Reynolds' head. Ghabar also argued that Blair "efficiently and effectively" managed the tackle on Reynolds.
Speaking via video link alongside coach Wayne Bennett, Blair said he clashed heads with Reynolds and that he lowered his body in an attempt to make a conventional tackle – which he committed to.
