The Holden State of Origin series is with us again for another year, and we at NRL.com are celebrating by asking fans to vote on their favourite Origin moment.

Today, a dominant performance in a one-sided thrashing goes up against an unlikely hero in a nail-biting finish.

Girdler's 32-point haul

Whatever it was, it wasn't Origin – or so embittered Queensland fans would tell you after NSW inflicted Origin's most massive defeat with a bag of pointscoring records. Ryan Girdler's full bag of tricks was on display, including his prowess for the intercept and precision goalkicking. Five tries, 16 goals and 52 points is a series benchmark that will take some overhauling and Girdler's own individual tally of 32 points was the icing on the cake for the New South Welshmen.

Brett Finch's field goal

First Craig Gower went down injured, then Matt Orford. Enter unlikely hero Brett Finch. With New South Wales chasing their fourth consecutive series win Finch was given the task of spearheading the Blues attack at halfback, but he did more than that. With a minute left in the game and the scores tied at 16-all, Finch was given the ball from captain Danny Buderus 35 metres out from his own try-line and kicked over one of the smoothest field goals you're ever likely to see to win the game.
