NRL heads back to the juniors
Players, coaches, referees and NRL staff will head back to junior Rugby League Clubs this week in a show of recognition and support for the countless hours that hundreds of volunteers deliver week in, week out across junior League seasons.
More than 150 NRL players and volunteers will give up their time to coach a local team, lend a hand on the BBQ or help set up and pack away training sessions throughout the week and coming weekend.
NRL CEO Todd Greenberg will take part in the concept for a third year running, helping out at his local junior Club in Cronulla.
"The back to the juniors concept epitomises what Rugby League is all about – lending a hand and supporting one another," Mr Greenberg said.
"Thousands of parents, coaches, teachers and others sacrifice so much for our budding footballers and together, we owe them a great deal of thanks and gratitude."
More than 170,000 junior Rugby League players participated in local competitions across Australia in 2015.
