Greg Eastwood looks happy after his intercept try.

Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs forward Greg Eastwood has signed a two-year contract extension, taking him through to the end of 2018.

Eastwood, 29, has played 147 games with the club over seven seasons and is currently part of New Zealand's Four Nations squad.

Bulldogs CEO Raelene Castle says the retention of Eastwood is a welcome development for the team.

"With his hard running and impressive skills Greg has a real ability to break open a game. He's an asset to our playing squad, a great family man and provides a steadying influence around the club - we're very pleased to have him on board for another two seasons," Castle said.

Eastwood says he's excited about extending his career with the Bulldogs.

"I've had an association with the Bulldogs for a long time now, it's a place I think of as home and I'm happy to have locked in another two years here," Eastwood said.

"We've got great stability in the playing group and together we make a team that is competitive every time we take the field.

"I think the Bulldogs can give this competition a real shake in 2017 and I'm looking forward to being a part of it."
