Wests Tigers centre Taane Milne has been sacked by the club for a second contravention of the NRL's illicit drugs policy.
Milne's two-year contract with the joint venture, which was only signed in June last year, has been terminated immediately, with an automatic 12-match NRL suspension to be served before the 22-year-old would be permitted to return to the game.
A Fijian international with five caps to his name, Milne arrived at Concord after two seasons and 18 games at St. George Illawarra and time in the Roosters lower grades.
A Wests Tigers statement said Milne's first infringement was at a rival NRL outfit, while the club says it will provide him with appropriate counselling and support.
"After due process and full consideration, and in collaboration with the NRL's Illicit Drug Policy guidelines, the club has made the decision to terminate Milne’s playing contract," the statement read.
"His behaviour contradicts the values, behaviours and culture being created at the club."
