Manly prop Darcy Lussick.

The Manly Sea Eagles have officially released prop Darcy Lussick from the final year of his deal to pursue a lucrative contract with Toronto Wolfpack.

Lussick looked set to leave the club a fortnight ago, however a string of injuries left Manly reluctant to release him given the number of players in the crowded Sea Eagles casualty ward.

The Sea Eagles and Lussick have reached an agreement that would allow him to depart the country immediately to join the Wolfpack in their quest to gain promotion into the English Super League next year.

The NRL rubber-stamped the release on Friday morning.

"We have decided to release Darcy today so he can accept this great opportunity to further his playing career overseas," Manly CEO Lyall Gorman said.

"This was too good of an opportunity for Darcy to pass up, so he leaves the Sea Eagles with our blessing.

"Darcy has proven to be a fine player and a good ambassador for Manly. We thank him for all of contributions both on and off the field. We wish him well for the future.”
