Bulldogs fullback Moses Mbye.

Wests Tigers-bound fullback Moses Mbye has been rewarded for his strong start to the season by being called into the Queensland Origin squad ahead of game one.

A day after officially signing a four-year deal to join the Tigers from the Canterbury Bulldogs at the end of year, Mbye has also celebrated a call-up to the extended Queensland squad as part of their plans to develop their emerging players.

Mbye received a phone call from coach Maroons coach Kevin Walters and will join the team in Sanctuary Cove on Wednesday afternoon.

Along with the Bulldogs custodian, Broncos trio Anthony Milford, Joe Ofahengaue and Jaydn Su'A, and Titans pair Dale Copley and Brenko Lee will also join the Maroons for training on Thursday and Friday.

Mbye will likely help with training at fullback as Billy Slater recovers from a minor hamstring complaint.

An 18th man for the series opener at the MCG will be decided closer to the next Wednesday's clash.

Witness Australia's greatest sporting rivalry when Origin comes to the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday, June 6. Bronze tickets available from $49 here.
