Eels playmaker Corey Norman has apologised for drinking while injured, after copping a $30,000 fine from the club.

Norman was placed on the club's no-drinking list after picking up an injury in round 10, only to post images of his night out on social media afterwards.

The 27-year-old said in a radio interview on Thursday he was disappointed in his actions but had accepted the decision from coach Brad Arthur and chief executive Bernie Gurr.

"I take full responsibility. It happened two weeks ago, we have dealt with it with Brad and Bernie since then and we have moved on," Norman told the Big Sports Breakfast.

"They are doing what they think is best and there are rules around what you can get fined for and at the moment, where we are at and how we are going, it probably isn't too harsh. I will cop it on the chin and move on.

"I am disappointed it happened, I have worked pretty hard over the last couple of years to get that stuff out of my game, so I am disappointed but I take full responsibility and won't shy away from it."

Eels throw support behind Norman

Norman played down speculation he was on the outer at the club.

"I am contracted for another year here and I am worried about getting back on the field next week and playing this year out and having a better back half of the year," he said.

"That's all I am worried about and that's all I can worry about, to be honest.

"I still have another year here so if I can stay another year, that will be good, but I am worrying about things that only I can control.

"I am happy here and just worried about getting on the field next week and try to get a few wins together this year."
