The Brisbane Broncos won four finals in a row to win the 1993 premiership and club legend Steve Renouf says in this week's NRL.com Podcast the current squad can learn lessons from that sequence of victories as they approach a similar ultimatum.

The Broncos have a tenuous hold on eighth position on 26 points, just two clear of the Wests Tigers.

Renouf believes Brisbane will just scrape in to the finals and says the team has the talent, and proven form against the top eight sides in 2018, to go on an unlikely run if they adopt the same positive approach to sudden death finals as the 1993 squad.

In the Podcast, Renouf gives his take on the dramas at Broncos HQ including the fallout from the bizarre barbecue saga that developed this week.

He analyses why the Sydney Roosters have timed their run to the grand final to perfection and why the Wests Tigers will continue the Dragons' misery at Leichhardt Oval this weekend.
