Wigan Warriors win Super League grand final

The Wigan Warriors have clinched their fifth Super League title, beating the Warrington Wolves 12-4 in the grand final to send their departing coach Shaun Wane out a winner.

Winger Dom Manfredi scored twice and Tom Davis also crossed for Wigan while Josh Charnley was the sole try-scorer for the Wolves.

It was the perfect farewell for Wane who will take a role with Scottish rugby union as well as departing trio John Bateman, Sam Tomkins and Ryan Sutton, with Bateman bound for the NRL's Canberra Raiders.

Former NRL players Thomas Leuluai, Dan Sarginson and Joe Greenwood were also in the winning Warriors side, while Bryson Goodwin, Bodene Thompson, Tyrone Roberts, Ben Murdoch-Masila and Mike Cooper were part of the defeated Warrington team. Roberts will return to the NRL with the Gold Coast Titans next season.

Wigan Warriors 12 (Manfredi 2, Davis tries) def. Warrington Wolves 4 (Charnley try) at Old Trafford.
