NRL Chief Executive, Todd Greenberg has congratulated New South Wales Rugby League on winning the Organisation of the Year title overnight at the 2018 New South Wales Sports Awards.

“The entire New South Wales board, executive and staff should be very proud of the year that they have had, and the recognition overnight is well deserved,” Mr Greenberg said.

“From grassroots participation growth through to winning both the men’s and women’s State of Origin shields, and so much more – this has been a year to look back on fondly and continues the success that New South Wales Rugby League has delivered over many years.

“I’m delighted to share a close working relationship with Chairman Dr George Peponis and Chief Executive David Trodden, both of whom I congratulated following the news.

“It’s been a very pleasing year for our game overall and it’s always great to celebrate off-field positive news that transcends regularly across our states and leagues.”

The New South Wales Sports Awards is an annual event which has been held since 1994.

The event recognises outstanding achievements and excellence across New South Wales sport, across several categories including athletes, teams, coaches, officials, administrators, events and organisations.
