Two players threatened the 100-point mark, several cash cows are exceeding expectations already and one superstar was the week's biggest flop in the opening round of NRL Fantasy for 2019.

Winners

We had joint players of the round with Jake Friend and James Tamou both kicking off the season with monster scores of 92. Friend scored a try, made a couple of line breaks and had an outrageous 68 tackles in the Roosters' rain-drenched loss to Souths, while Tamou had a try, 133 metres and 56 tackles in 60 minutes against Parramatta.

Other winners included Corey Oates (two tries, 227 metres, 78 points), Robbie Farah (two tries, 76 points), Jason Taumalolo (286 metres, 75 points), Andrew Fifita (69 points) and Adam Reynolds (63).

Several cash cows made a dream start to 2019, none more so than Warriors five-eighth Adam Keighran who's superb 68 on debut earned him a $66,000 price rise – just edging Tamou as the week's top earner.

Sharks forward Briton Nikora (61 points, +$57k) was the next best, Friend and Oates both earned more than $50k, while Michael Morgan began the post-Johnathan Thurston era with an excellent 68 points and a $45k price rise.

Tigers forward Luke Garner (55 points, +$38k), Jack Bird (48, +$34k), Lachlan Burr (43, +$33k), Jacob Host (40, +$30k), Mikaele Ravalawa (38, +$28k) and Marata Niukore (56, +$28k) were the other big round one moneymakers.

Losers

James Tedesco may finish the year as Fantasy's best winger/fullback but he's started it as the dud of the week, scoring just 18 in the Roosters' loss to Souths. His price has slumped by $47,000 and he'll be a cut-price pickup for teams who don't have him in a few weeks.

Teammate Angus Crichton only got limited game time off the bench in his club debut at NRL level, scoring 12 and dropping in value by $56,000.

Injured stars Nathan Brown (pec, 11 points, -$56k) and James Roberts (back, 1 point, -$43k) also saw their prices plummet, while Titans skipper Ryan James scored just 25 points in 60 minutes.

Popular cash cow winger/fullbacks Reuben Garrick (10) and Maika Sivo (11) were both misfires in round one but could still make cash with a few tries in the coming weeks, while fellow cheapies Corey Allan (2) and Tom Flegler (10) were among the week's lowest scorers, and new Panther Hame Sele (14) made 16 tackles in 17 minutes before breaking his arm.
