The Melbourne Storm have freed up Cheyse Blair to join Castleford in the English Super League.
The Storm happily granted Blair's request for a release, praising the 27-year-old's contributions to the club on and off the field.
The release is effective immediately, allowing the 27-year-old to sign with Castleford on a three-year deal.
Blair joined the Storm in 2016 after stints with Manly and Parramatta. He scored 18 tries in 38 games with the club, his best year being 2016 when he appeared in 17 games and started in the centres against Cronulla.
Blair played 13 games with Melbourne in 2017 before injury ended his season.
Despite not being a regular first-grader in 2018, Blair earned selection in the team for the first week of the finals series, rising to the occasion with two tries - the second of which proved crucial with six minutes remaining - in Melbourne's 29-28 defeat of the Rabbitohs.
Blair, wife Tammy and their two children will leave for the UK next week.
Storm players and officials have rallied around winger Josh Addo-Carr after his grandfather Wally lost his battle with stomach cancer overnight.
One of Australia's most decorated boxers, Wally Carr had 101 professional fights and claimed four different Australian titles.
