NSW five-eighth Greg Hawick sets a record for interstate games that is unlikely to be broken when he kicks 15 goals in the Blues’ 69-5 win over Queensland at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Wests Tigers fullback James Tedesco goes back on his decision to sign with Canberra, taking advantage of the NRL’s round 13 trading window, and pledges his immediate playing future to the Tigers. 

2018

The Maroons suffer a body blow 48 hours before the opening State of Origin match when fullback Billy Slater is forced to withdraw with hamstring soreness. Broncos five-eighth Anthony Milford and Knights fullback Kalyn Ponga are rushed to Melbourne to provide cover.

2020

The Sydney Roosters hand the Broncos the biggest hiding in the club’s history by demolishing them 59-0 at Suncorp Stadium. The Broncos fielded one of their most inexperienced line-ups, however, the Roosters were missing Dally M player of the year James Tedesco, who was forced to undergo a test for COVID-19 after waking with an elevated temperature.
