Gerard Sutton and Ashley Klein will referee the 2019 Holden State of Origin II at Optus Stadium on Sunday, June 23.

The referees appointments committee also selected Nick Beashel and Chris Butler as touch judges for the match, while Jared Maxwell (Senior Review Official) and Ben Galea (Review Official) will operate the NRL Bunker.

“Both Gerard and Ashley officiated well in State of Origin I,” NRL Head of Football Elite Competitions Graham Annesley said.

“In fact the entire group performed well in the first match of the series.

“They bring big-game experience into a crucial match, and it is certainly beneficial to maintain some consistency through the series.”

The match will be Sutton’s 15th consecutive State of Origin match, while it will be Klein’s seventh Origin match.

The match officials for the second Holden State of Origin match, on June 23, are:

Assist Referee: Ashley Klein

Senior Review Official: Jared Maxwell

Review Official: Ben Galea

Touch Judges: Nick Beashel, Chris Butler

Standby Referee: Grant Atkins

Standby Touch Judge: Michael Wise
