Maroons utility Moses Mbye.

Queensland Origin utility Moses Mbye has fully recovered after suffering a serious allergic reaction in the team hotel in Perth.

The Wests Tigers skipper began sweating and feeling light-headed to the point of near-collapse before seeking help from Maroons team doctor Matt Hislop.

"Moses developed a serious allergic reaction and he was worried enough to call me straight away," Hislop said.

"By the time I was able to see him, he was beginning to show signs of the reaction with a skin rash and swelling. I started treatment immediately and he responded quickly."

Mbye has been cleared to play but Hislop says he needs to undergo further tests in Sydney to find out what caused the severe reaction.

"It was obviously a reaction to something," Mbye told the QRL website.

"I started feeling a bit itchy and lightheaded ā€“ I phoned the doc and he managed it professionally. We had all our supplies here ready to go and we got on top of it early.

ā€œIā€™m feeling sweet now and ready to play.ā€
