Maroons pivot Cameron Munster.

Cameron Munster's positioning at the Maroons first training run indicates he is on track to be Queensland's fullback in the State of Origin decider at ANZ Stadium.

With Kalyn Ponga sidelined with a calf injury, all eyes at Langlands Park were on who was looming as Queensland's new custodian.

Munster and winger Corey Oates were peppered by centre Michael Morgan and Maroons legend Allan Langer with kicks from 40m out. Munster and Oates were also seen working on their communication in tandem.

Then Langer launched a series of grubber kicks at Munster which he attacked with gusto on the run, just as a fullback would do in general play.

Munster was then at the back marshalling his troops in the front line when the Maroons turned to defensive work.

Adding to the mystery around the Maroons new fullback was the fact that Morgan, who suffered a concussion in the Cowboys round 15 loss to the Dragons, trained on his own before then chiming in at fullback and five-eighth later in the session.

Moses Mbye trained at left centre and Corey Norman also did some ball work at fullback in tandem with Munster as captain Daly Cherry-Evans watched from under the goal posts.
