Ian Schubert is born in Wauchope, NSW. Schubert debuted with the Roosters in 1975 and also had stints with Wests and Manly before retiring in 1989 after 269 games. He played four games for Australia and one game for NSW, and went on to become the chief salary cap auditor for the NRL.

Robbie Rochow is born in Maitland, NSW. After debuting with the Storm in 2010, he spent the next five seasons with the Knights, appearing in 72 games. Rochow then played with Souths and Melbourne again before joining the Wests Tigers in 2018.

The Gold Coast Chargers and Adelaide Rams clubs play their final premiership matches.

2008

Brisbane skipper Darren Lockyer climbs from his sickbed to inspire a thrilling 25-21 golden point win over the Gold Coast. Titans fullback Preston Campbell displays remarkable courage to play through 43 minutes of the match with a broken jaw.

2014

Interim St George Illawarra coach Paul McGregor is appointed to a full-time role with the club until the end of 2017.

2016

St George Illawarra halfback Benji Marshall is faced with retirement after the Dragons fail to table an offer for 2017 and rival clubs express little interest in his services. Marshall is dropped from the Dragons' team to play Parramatta in Round 25. He would later go on to play 13 games for Brisbane in 2017 before making a triumphant return to his original club Wests Tigers in 2018.

2020

Canberra prop Josh Papalii produces one of the tackles of the season when he brings down runaway Gold Coast captain Jamal Fogarty with an ankle tap during his team's 36-16 victory at Cbus Super Stadium.
