True to form, Mose Masoe has accepted his latest setback with good grace after being told he needs to go home instead of receiving treatment at hospital due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The former NRL journeyman, who seriously injured his neck playing for Hull KR earlier this year, will be moved from the Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield this week, according to a Hull Live report.
“My wife is pregnant so they’ve all been staying home and she's only going out to get food. They’ve been doing the right thing and staying away. I haven’t seen them for two weeks," he told Hull Live.
“We knew we had to do that because it’s safer for everyone. We both thought it was the best thing to do.
“I’m gutted to be going home because I wanted to keep my progression going. The next step was to go from parallel bars to a walking frame to crutches and then you can pretty much walk by yourself.”
He can't take rehab equipment home from the hospital as it is needed for other patients.
Masoe posted on Twitter to let everyone know where are people are in a worse situation than himself.
The former Roosters, Panthers and Dragons enforcer told NRL.com last month that he intended to be back on his feet from his spinal injury by the time his wife Carissa gives birth to their fourth child in July.
