Sharks centre Bronson Xerri has been issued a Notice of Alleged Anti-Doping Rule Violations by the NRL.
After the boom youngster was provisionally suspended after returning a positive sample to Anabolic Androgenic Steroids on May 26, he has been subject to the anti-doping process administered by Sport Integrity Australia.
With the completion of that process, the matter has been referred to the NRL’s anti-doping process for determination.
The notice alleges Xerri breached the policy through the presence, use and possession of Testosterone, and its metabolites Androsterone, Etiocholanolone and 5b-androstane-3a,17b-diol.
Those substances are prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the NRL’s Anti-Doping Policy.
Under the NRL Anti-Doping Policy, Xerri now has the chance to respond to the matters raised in the notice he received on Tuesday.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the NRL said it will continue to make support services available to Xerri and will not be making further comment during the process.
