No NSW Origin players will be impacted by the Queensland government's decision to declare Sydney's Waverley local government area area a hot spot.
Clubs were advised on Thursday by the NRL for players to avoid public venues and due to the cases of COVID-19 which have emerged in Sydney's east in recent days, the Queensland and NSW governments announced new restrictions on Friday.
The NSW government has announced masks are now mandatory on public transport in Sydney for the next five days. The measures do not include the surrounding areas of the Central Coast and the Illawarra.
The Queensland government announced anyone who has been in the Waverley local government area in Sydney's east over the past 14 days will need to apply for a border pass as of 1am on Saturday.
NSW have switched their pre-Origin II training camp to Kingscliff near the Queensland border and will fly to the Far North Coast town on Monday, as planned.

The Blues, who had intended to base themselves at Coogee like they did before game one of the Ampol State of Origin series, issued a statement on Friday to say they had decided to switch as a precautionary measure.
According to the Blues statement, "the situation continues to develop daily and moving out of Sydney will give the team the best chance of an uninterrupted preparation as they look to wrap up the series".
NSW will name their team for game two on Sunday night while Queensland will announce their squad for next Sunday's clash at Suncorp Stadium on Monday morning.
The Blues kicked off the series with an emphatic 50-6 win last week in Townsville after that match was switched from the MCG due to a COVID-19 outbreak in Victoria.
NSW and Queensland are due to clash in the women's Origin game at Sunshine Coast Stadium next Friday. The Blues are due to fly north on Tuesday - a NSWRL official said they had assembled in camp at Homebush and no players were affected by the restrictions on travel for people in Sydney's east.
