Round 15 charges: Ravalawa cops four, Taukeiaho cleared

Dragons winger Mikaele Ravalawa was suspended for four matches for a shoulder charge after Roosters prop Siosiua Taukeiaho was found not guilty of a grade-one careless high tackle charge at the judiciary on Tuesday night.

Ravalawa will spend four matches on the sidelines for a shoulder charge, having pleaded not guilty rather than accept a three-match ban. The two prior similar offences he has over the last two years doubled his penalty.

Taukeiaho escaped a fine and will avoid having a "prior offence" added to his judiciary record after being cleared off the offence at the judiciary on Tuesday.

Four players received fines stemming from Sunday's matches.

Eels duo Marata Niukore ($2150) and Nathan Brown ($2150), Canterbury's Luke Thompson ($1350) and Manly's Morgan Harper ($1350) all entered guilty pleas to charges on Tuesday.

Storm prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona has accepted a two-game ban.

Asofa-Solomona, who has four guilty findings within the last two years, received a dangerous contact charge. If not for the prior offences, the Storm giant would only have been looking at a fine.

Two players from Saturday's matches have taken fines - Ben Murdoch-Masila (Warriors) and Lachlan Fitzgibbon (Knights) for grade-one careless high tackle charges.

Tevita Pangai jnr has accepted a three-match ban after being charged for a crusher tackle.

Pangai, who was told by the Broncos last week that he was free to leave at the end of the season despite being under contract until the end of 2022, was charged with a grade-one offence by the match review committee.

The incident in question - a tackle on Cameron Murray - occurred in the 26th minute of Brisbane's 46-0 trouncing at the hands of South Sydney on Thursday night at Suncorp Stadium.

Due to four prior offences, he could have been out for an extra game if he unsuccessfully challenged the charge at the judiciary.
