Last year was a forgettable one for Dragons fans, but the brightest spot for both Red V supporters and Fantasy coaches came in the late-season form of some of their emerging young stars.
Plenty of those young guns will be vying for spots alongside some very seasoned signings with the potential for a couple of Fantasy bargains to start the year.
Big Guns
Andrew McCullough ($679k) is the most expensive Dragon but as someone who scores the vast majority of his points through tackles and averaged close to 80 minutes last year, there is no real upside and better options elsewhere.
Ben Hunt ($675k) is capable of huge scores but is less consistent than other big guns unless he plays hooker – which is unlikely to happen this year, at least in the early stages. Jack De Belin ($659k) is the only other Dragon priced over $600k and as a former Fantasy gun is potentially a little underpriced after easing his way back into first grade with some small-minute appearances.

Bargain Hunter
Zac Lomax's ($499k) price tumbled in 2021 as he battled injuries and failed to register the consistent attacking stats of 2020 when he was the best CTR in Fantasy. He could easily add $100k or more to that price if he reclaims his best form. Talatau Amone ($350k) starts at an appealing price thanks to five bench games where he played 25 minutes or less; he averaged 47 in his three starting games at five-eighth late in the season and will be one to seriously consider if he starts in round one.
Cheapies
The emerging Dragons young guns all got a run last year so unfortunately there are no Dragons players in the cheapie range likely to start the season in the starting 13 other than noted Fantasy liability Cody Ramsey ($288k).

Be Wary
Jayden Sullivan ($475k) starts at an awkward price after some big scores in his five games last year, which included some big tackle counts covering hooker and two tries. That's not to say he can't improve on that price tag with a regular starting spot and he's an exciting prospect but there are safer options. Similar applies to fullback Tyrell Sloan ($500k), who was a late addition to Fantasy after being a late addition to the Dragons' top 30; his six tries in five games means even with the discount for playing fewer than 10 games he starts a long way outside the cheapie range.
