Payne Haas will look to become the first prop forward in history to win the Dally M Medal as sits on top of the leaderboard through 12 rounds of the 2023 NRL season.

In the last round of public voting before the award goes behind closed doors, the Broncos prop sits three points clear of Panthers star Nathan Cleary and five clear of Storm hooker Harry Grant despite not picking up any points in Round 12.

It was Cleary who took top honours in Penrith's win over Brisbane, collecting the maximum six points on offer, while fullback Dylan Edwards accrued two points to move into a four-way tie for seventh spot on 22 points.

Cleary was one of four players to collect six points in Round 12, with Eels playmaker Dylan Brown, Sharks fullback William Kennedy and Sea Eagles star Tom Trbojevic all standing out in their side's respective wins. Trbojevic currently sits in 11th spot on the Dally M leaderboard, nine points behind Haas.

Three for Tom

Last year's Dally M medal winner, Nicho Hynes, sits in equal third alongside Grant on 25 points after he picked up two points in Cronulla's win over Newcastle.

In 2022, Hynes collected the highest ever points total (38) en route to winning the Dally M but that number is expected to be bettered this year with the introduction of the new voting system.

Kennedy was on

The new Dally M voting process sees two judges watch each game in 2023 and award points on a three-two-one basis, meaning a maximum of six points are available for every match of the 2023 Telstra Premiership season.
